INSTRUCTORS OF JIM & WS

SUB. SHOWKAT AHMAD MIR: Joined JIM & WS on deputation from the Indian Army in 2018 as Instructor. He is highly experienced mountaineering and skiing instructor. He has been a part of many successful expeditions like: Indian Ski Expedition South Pole, Indian Ski Expedition Greenland, Indian Ski Expedition Svalbard Norway, Indian Ski Expedition North Pole and Mt. Machoi.

SUB. SOBIT GURUNG: Joined this Institute in the year 2018 on deputation from the Indian Army as Instructor. He is highly experienced mountaineer and Skier. He has been part of many successful expeditions and has been returned in HAWS & SBS, the Siachen Base Camp like Mt. Machoi.

HAV. BHARAT SINGH RAWAT: Has joined this Institute as an instructor on Deputation from the Indian Army as an instructor in the year Dec 08th 2022. He has been a part of many successful expeditions and Rescue like: Mt. Nanda Devi East, Mt. Stok Kangri, Mt. Gulab Kangri, Mt. Thaly Sagar, Army Ski Expedition and Rescue from HAWS.

HAV. IQBAL KHAN: Joined JIM&WS as an Instructor in 2018 on deputation from the Indian Army. He has been a part of many successful expeditions like Mt. Everest, Mt. Rimo, Mt Trishul, Mt Lubachai, Mt. Stok Kangri, Mt Machoi, Mt. Kolahoi, Mt. Harmukh, Mt. Tatakooti, Mt Tuliyan and Mt. Sunset.

NK. NIRMAL SINGH: Joined this Institute in the year 2021 as an instructor. He has been a part of many successful expeditions and rescue operations such as Mt. Machoi, Mt. 5158. His rescue operations include Harsil Sector (where trackers were missing and the rescue team recovered 10 dead bodies) and Mt. Trishul Rescue Operation (where Navy Team was buried in Avalanche in which 04 members were recoverd by our Rescue team)

HAV. KAMAL PURJA PUN (SM): Joined this Institute on 23 Feb 2022 as Instructor. He has served Siachen Battle School as Instructor from 25 Oct 2013 to 2 Feb 2016. His successful expeditions include Mt Chomo Yummo, Mt. Khangchengya and Ski expedition to North pole. He has been awarded by Sena Medal in 2015 for rescue operation in Siachen Glacier.

HAV. THAMAN BAHADUR THAPA: Joined the Institute of JIM&WS in the year 2020 as instructor. He has been a part of many successful expeditions like Mt. Machoi and Mt. 5158.

NK. AJAY CHAUHAN: Joined JIM&WS as Instructor in 2019 on deputation from Indian Army. He has been a part of many successful expeditions like Mt. Kolahoi, Mt. Harmukh, Mt. Tatakooti, Mt. Tuliyan, MT. Sunset and Mt. Machoi.

HAV/NA Y S. BHADORIYA: Joined JIM&WS as a nursing assistant on 28th Oct on deputation from Indian Army. He has been a part of many successful expeditions like Mt. Harmukh, Mt. Tatakooti, Mt. Sunset, and Mt. Machoi.

HAV. Rajendra Mukhiya Joined the Institute on 17th of October 2022 on deputation from the Indian Army as an Instructor. He is a highly experienced mountaineer. He had served as Instructor in Siachen Battle School from 2013-2015 and In Army Mountaineering Institute from 2021-2022. He has been part of many successful expeditions like Mt. Machoi, Mt. Dolmi, Mt Bana top, and Mt.5852. He had participated in Everest Full Marathon in 2016.

MR. MAHFOOZ ILAHI HAJAM: He is the civilian Instructor and has been served JIM & WS for last 13 years. He is highly experienced instructor in Mountaineering, Skiing and Paragliding. He has successfully summitted many mountain peaks, including Mt. DKD-II, Mt. Jogin I & III, Mt. Stok Kangri, Mt. Gulab Kangri, Mt. Machoi, Mt. Kolahoi, Mt. Tuliyan, Mt. Harmukh, Mt. Sunset, Mt. Tatakooti, Mt. Lobuche, Mt. Everest. He has also taken part in many National Winter Games at Manali, Uttarakhand and Gulmarg. He has been awarded NCC DG Commendation Card by DG NCC, New Delhi and also Young Leadership Award by Lt. Governor of J&K (UT) for outstanding achievement in the field of adventure sports. He is the first civilian of J&K (UT) to climb Mount Everest.
